I made a Mac browser: Arc’s sidebar and Dia’s polish on real Chromium. Free, open source, no ads, no trackers. The sidebar you’re using to read this site is a copy of it.

Ardia
Arc's sidebar and Dia's polish, on real Chromium
What it is
A free, open-source browser for the Mac. When Arc stopped shipping I wanted the sidebar back without giving up Chromium, so I patched de-Googled Chromium and put my own shell around it. It's notarized, it updates itself, and it keeps ads and trackers out.
The bit I'm proud of
Dia's New Tab effects, rebuilt as Metal shaders. And the landing page: a WebGL2 oil painting with wind in the grass, wet paint you can smear, and a sun you can drag into night. The meadow above is that exact engine, running inside this tab.
On this tab: The real meadow from ardia.dev (drag the sun past the hills), and this whole sidebar.
